The MacOS High Sierra Update Slows Computers and Causes Data Loss

Due to the most recent operating system update, MacOS High Sierra, we have seen dozens of customers each week who have been left with a nonfunctional computer after the update. Some even experience complete data loss.

With Apple’s release of MacOS High Sierra in the fall of 2017, they announced a new file system called APFS, instead of their traditional MacOS Journaled. During the update, the drive is reformatted into APFS, and this often times has complications, resulting in a significantly slowed computer, a dead hard drive, or data loss.

The good news is that you can bring your Mac computer by our store for a FREE check-up. If data recovery is possible, we will retrieve it at your request. We will then securely erase your hard drive, and install a clean version of the operating system, and then put your data back on your computer.

We charge between $30-120 for the whole process depending on the severity of corruption and the amount of data you need saved. So give us a call today to make sure your Mac is not at risk!
